TOMY HUANG
ABOUT TOMY
Tomy Huang is a Los Angeles–based fashion designer, tailor, artist and educator with 18 years of experience in fashion design, pattern making and garment construction. Trained at ESMOD Beijing and FIDM, his practice covers womenswear, menswear, eveningwear and formal gowns.
His work is grounded in garment structure and the complete development process—from inspiration and design to pattern drafting, draping, fitting and final construction. He brings creative and technical thinking together, with attention to proportion, movement, fit and craftsmanship.
At FIDM, Tomy taught primarily fashion pattern drafting and also taught in the Advanced Fashion Design Program, mentoring students from initial research and concept development through the creation and runway presentation of a complete collection.
His professional experience includes independent collections, technical development, custom garments and collaborative projects for Disney, Netflix and digital creators. Through Petit Seamer Atelier in Downtown Los Angeles, he continues his design and tailoring practice while offering individualized guidance for students developing their technical skills and fashion portfolios.
